283 - The Sermon on the Mount.

Matthew 5 21-42, 6: 1-34,7: 1-29

Jesus' Teaching about anger, adultery and divorce - Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a written notice of divorce,. But I tell you, everyone who divorces his wife, except in a case of sexual immorality,, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Vows and revenge But I tell you, don't take an oath at all; either by heaven, because it is God's throne, or by the earth, because it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
But let your word yes be yes, and your no be no . Anything more than this is from the evil one.
Give to the one who asks you, and don't turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Love for enemies But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

Teaching about giving But when you give to the poor, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Teaching about prayers and fasting
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptations, but deliver us from evil;
For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.

THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT
TO LIVE IN GOD'S BLESSINGS AND
LOVE.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you;
But if ye, forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.

Riches in heaven Don't collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don't break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

God and possessions But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Judging others
Our heavenly Father Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Further teaching How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.

The wise man and the foolish man Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible and who built his house on the rock.

Jesus authority.

Blessings
Kathleen.
