276 - Jesus' childhood.

Kathleen's thoughts

Matthew 2: 1-23, 3: 1-6
Luke 2: 39 -52, 3: 1-18
Mark 1: 2-6

The wise men King Herold... In Bethlehem of Judea.they told him, because this is what was written by the prophet; And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; because out of you will come a leader who will shepherd My people Israel.
Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother and falling to their knees, they worshipped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.

The flight to Egypt Joseph in a dream... Get up! take the child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. For Herod is about to search for the child to destroy Him.
He stayed there until Herod's death, so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled; OUT OF EGYPT I CALLED MY SON.
A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; and she refused to be consoled, because they were no more.

From Egypt to Nazareth Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.

Jesus' childhood in Nazareth The boy grew up and became strong, filled with wisdom, and God's grace was on Him.

Birth of Paul approx. AD 10-15

Jesus in the Temple When He was 12 years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival.
After those days Mary and Joseph were returning to their home and found Jesus was not with them so they returned to Jerusalem to find him... Why were you searching for Me/ He asked them. Didn't you know that I had to be in My Father's house But they did not understand what He said to them.

Jesus' early life Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and with people.
This is the second time that is mentioned that Mary kept all these things in her heart.

Start of John the Baptist's ministry In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Wilderness of Judea and saying, 'Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!" For he is the one spoken of through the prophet Isaiah, who said;
A voice of one crying out in the wilderness; Prepare the way for the Lord; make His paths straight!"
his food was locusts and wild honey.
Look, I am sending My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way. A voice of one crying out in the wilderness; Prepare the way f or the Lord; make His paths straight!'

John 1: 6-914-18
There was a man named John who was sent from God. He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light but he came to testify about the light. The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Indeed we have all received grace after grace from His fullness, for although the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The one and Only Son the One who is at the Father's side He has revealed Him.

The word became flesh and took up residence among us, we observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1: 14

Blessings
Kathleen.
