92 - 1/4 way through the Lords word "The Bible"

Kathleen's thoughts

Judges 9,10,13

This is the story of Abimelech the son of Gideon.

Jotham is the only son to survive Abimelechs treacherous ways and it was he that stood on top of Mount Gerizim and raised his voice announcing what Abimelech is all about and what he did to his brothers then Jotham fled escaping to Beer, and lived there because of his brother Abimelech!
After Abimelech had ruled for 3 years over Israel God sent a evil spirit between Abimelech and the lords of Shechem. They treated Abimelech deceitfully because of the death of the 70 sons of Gideon that justice and their blood be avenged on their brother Abimelech, who killed them.
Abimelech destroys Shecham then in Judges 9 Abimelech dies through woman who threw the upper portion of a millstone on Abimelech's head and fractured his skull He quickly called his armo-bearer and said tohim, Draw your sword and kill me or they'll say a woman killed him. and so the armor-bearer thrust him through and he died.. verse 56. In this way, the evil that Abimelech had done against his father, by killing his 70 brothers, God turned back on him. And God also returned all the evil of the men of Shechem on their heads. This the curse of Jothan son of Jerubbaal came on them.

Tola son of Puah son of Dodo become the seventh judge was to defend Israel. He judged Israel23 years and he died and buried in Shamir.

Jair is the 8th judge and he was judgeover Israel 22 years

Judges 13; 2-7 Is where the angel of the Lord appeared to the wife of Monoah and said she would conceive and bare a son and was not to drink wine or strong drink or eat unclean food while being pregnant and when this child is born not to cut his hair because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from birth and he Will Begin to save Israel from the power of the Philistines. Then the angel of the lord appeared to Monoah.
Monoah prepared a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord he also asked the name of the angel. verse 18 "Why do you ask My name," the Angel of the Lord asked him, "since it is wonderful."
And so Samson was conceived.
I find it strange here that Samson's mothers name is not mentioned! And yet the Angel of the Lord came to her just like he did to Mary. Food for thought!

The Judges of Israel were...Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon, Tola, Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon, Samson.

Blessings
Kathleen.
